Netéske Horton is a professional saxophonist, composer, arranger, and teacher based in East London, South Africa. With a passion for jazz performance, she has established herself as both a dynamic performer and a dedicated educator.

​

A prominent figure in the Eastern Cape music scene, Netéske has performed widely as a band leader and session musician, collaborating with acclaimed artists such as award-winning vocalist Dumza Mazwana and horn players Sakhile Simani and Kyle du Preez. Her artistry weaves together a rich tapestry of sound, earning her recognition on stages across the country.

In addition to her performance career, Netéske has made a significant impact as an educator. She spent six years as Head of Music at Stirling High School, where she nurtured and developed young talent, and continues to contribute as a jazz tutor and band conductor at the National Youth Jazz Festival in Makhanda.

​

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from the University of Cape Town and recently completed her Master’s degree in Music at Wits University. With more than nine years of teaching experience, Netéske remains committed to shaping the next generation of musicians while inspiring audiences with her performances.
