Born into a family of musicians, Kristy has played the saxophone since the age of 12. Excelling in music throughout school, she achieved distinction in the subject, completed Grade 6 Trinity theory, and earned full colours in Music and Choir. Following school, she completed a Diploma in Music with Cum Laude from UOVS, winning 1st prize in the Old Mutual Solo Competition during their studies.

Since 2013, Kristy has taught music at St Patrick’s CBC in Kimberley, serving as the Foundation Phase Music and Movement teacher and woodwind instructor for saxophone, clarinet, and recorder from Grades 1–12. She collaborate with the school choir director and administer events such as the Eisteddfod and MADDfest, nurturing young musicians and fostering a love for music across all ages.
